Simply stated, our goals are:
• To treat all buyers and sellers with honesty and integrity
• To understand and address the goals and needs of both the business owners and business buyers
• To confidentially promote each business to the greatest number of qualified buyers
• To assist buyers in finding good business opportunities they will enjoy and be successful owning
• To bring buyers and sellers together in a transaction that is mutually successful and rewarding
Every transaction must meet certain standards of reasonableness to reach a successful conclusion. Sellers want to get maximum value for their business- it’s probably going to be the biggest and most important financial transaction of their life. Buyers want to get the best deal they can for their money since it’s probably going to be the biggest and most important financial transaction of their life as well- so far. When they sell the business sometime in the future, which most business owners eventually do, they want that to become the biggest and most important financial transaction of their life.
Our goal is to help buyers and sellers reach that common ground known as mutual agreement at a reasonable value- to use an overworked term, a “win-win” transaction. In nearly all transactions we act as a Transaction Broker or Intermediary and not as the buyer’s or seller’s exclusive agent. A better title might be “advisors to the transaction.”
With many years of proven experience in main-street and lower middle-market transactions, backed by even more years of business ownership and management experience, our Associates have the understanding and focus to help buyers and sellers alike reach that common ground. Since the transfer of business ownership is often a once-in-a-lifetime event, most of our buyers and sellers are experiencing the process for the first time. Advance preparation and education are important for success and we have the experience and expertise to guide both parties in that process.
